4th of July

When the 4th of July falls on a Sunday, it always kind of throws us. We kept talking about making BBQ plans or something, but never got it done. Luckily, we were saved by homemade-ice-cream-making friends! After sampling many yummy flavors, we headed to a nearby football field (where we went in 2008, I think) to enjoy some fireworks.

We had purchased not-quite-licensed Red Sox shirts when we went to the game in May, and saved them for this special holiday (I LOVE that Red Sox colors are also patriotic!!). We had a great time watching the show, and Mr. B wants to point out that this was the second time he watched them without plugging his ears!

Happy Ice Cream smiles!

My honey chillin' on the grass.
(There is nothing like laying down to watch fireworks
(being in a football stadium is an added perk
(b/c doesn't football make everything even better?))

Our cute little friend loved the Buzz we brought.

And the Mickey Sword lives on.
(Who says we didn't get our money's worth?)

We caught the end of the Boston Pops concert on the radio on the way home.
We sung our lungs out to our favorite patriotic songs.
I do love me a good Sousa song. Mmmm, mmm.

Happy 4th everyone!
