In June we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We couldn't/didn't find a babysitter, so we figured we'd make it a family affair (ha, ha). Ryan took the day off, and to the beach we went.
Wingaersheek was definitely more crowded than when we went in May, but still as beautiful. The boys really had fun playing. D-man's favorite activity is digging a hole (or directing a hole to be dug), filling it with water, and then getting a good running start to jump in. So cute, at least the first million times. :) Mr. B loves it all--running into the water, out of the water, jumping over waves, digging holes, filling them up, finding shells, you name it. It's fun to see them play and not have to say "no" or "calm down" all of the time.
We spent most of the day there, then changed and went into Gloucester.
We walked around, then had dinner at The Gloucester House. Yes, I (somewhat)-voluntarily had fish for my anniversary dinner. :) Actually, my honey-almond salmon was quite delicious. And I'm pretty sure R enjoyed his meal, at least a little bit.
We were pleased to find that someone knew we were coming and had a carnival just for us! :) We rode the Ferris Wheel overlooking the ocean (and briefly watched the Greasy Pole Competition--seriously, people do things like this?), and had a few tickets left for the Merry-Go-Round and the Super-Slide.
We had a nice day, and it was great to spend time together.
**I brought the camera but unfortunately left it in the car all day. So, just imagine us looking sun-kissed and carefree (I know, it's a stretch).**
