Utah Part 5

We were so excited to be able to take the boys to a BYU Football open practice on our way down to St. George. As it turned out, it was a bit too hot, too bright, and not football-game-ish enough to keep them entertained for long. :( But we watched for a while, and then treated ourselves to some Jamba Juice (ahh, Jamba Juice, how I miss you!). Rejuvenated, we took a walk around campus, showing them where we had had classes, eaten lunch, studied, etc. They humored us pretty well. :)

We drove the rest of the way to St. George to join some of Ryan's family for a week of sun and fun. It really was lovely. One of the few places where I get warm enough to want to get INTO the pool without freezing! There was a great kid-friendly pool, with enough shallow space for D-man, and enough kind-of-deep for Mr. B. There were many hours of splashing with cousins, playing pool games, and lazily floating around (me). It was great.

We also ate lots of yummy food, watched some good movies, and went through several supplies of Otter Pops. :) It was so nice to sit back and relax together, letting the boys play with cousins and aunts and uncles (and be introduced to Angry Birds.... ;) )

One evening, we ventured out to Tuacahn Ampitheater to see The Little Mermaid. It was great. After the first song ended and everyone was clapping, D-man turned to me and said, "It's not over is it?" He did that every time anyone started clapping--not wanting the fun to end. It was so cute. We did not wait in line for autographs afterward, but the boys definitely wanted a closer look at Ariel and Erik. :)

We were sad to leave when it was time to go. D-man, even now months later, still brings up St. George sometimes. It was a great week.

We stopped on the way back north to see some friends who had recently moved from Michigan to Provo. It was a huge move for them, since he went to the U. I think he and their oldest boy are still waiting to be wowed by BYU sports before they switch their allegiance from Michigan. :) It was fun to catch up and watch our kids play together.

We made one more stop before driving back to Grandma and Grandpa's:

While the world in Boston may "run on Dunkin', " we sure don't think their donuts are work a lick. Krispy Kreme, on the other hand, are worth it! R had never had a warm one, and he finally understood my obsession. So delicious.

Somebody else thought they were pretty good, too. :)
