We had a lovely Christmas this year. We were so grateful for R's break from school, and he was able to take some time off at work and be home with us to relax and enjoy. I think I put our new couches in the last post--that was our big family gift this year. We also celebrated the anniversary of this family gift. :) We love having music in our home, especially at Christmas time.
So, here is a silly attempt at something more interesting to read:
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
not even the squirrel-that-lives-in-between-the-floors-of-the-house.
The family was out at a party with friends,
That all too quickly came to an end.
Then off to their home, the Holts went with a bound,
To see what fun was about to be found.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with cheer,
With a special Santa note, and carrot for reindeer.
New PJ's, how soft,
it's time for group hugs,
Then off to bed, tucked in safe and snug.

Then what to my wondering eyes did appear,
but the morning sun all too soon was here.
So upstairs we went, anticipation a'glow,
To see if dear Santa had put on a show.
And oh, what a sight met our sleepy eyes;
The room was full of fun, wrapped up for surprise.
Piggy banks, hula hoops, fruit and treats galore,
D-man dug right in, chomping his apple down to the core.
Then down flights of stairs we went with a stomp,
to continue our present-opening romp.
We're so grateful for family, who we miss lots and lots.
They sent so much love, all wrapped up in a box.
Not a creature was stirring,
not even the squirrel-that-lives-in-between-the-floors-of-the-house.

Then out on the lawn there arose such a clatter--
Our friends, here for brunch, with fruit on a platter.
We hurried to clean, prep the food and to serve,
for a yummy meal is what all did deserve.
The food was delish, the company fun,
they even put up with my chimes, every one.
The joy did not end on that special day,
for the next, after Church, cousins came to play!
As they left, just in time, the snow came--hurray!
To give us a reason to stay home and play.
Yes, Christmas, my friends, was a joy all around.
We hope yours was fun too; peace and love to abound.
super cute family picture!!
