Drive Trip Phase 5

First stop: John Johnson Farm in Hiram, OH. We enjoyed this tour very much. It was great to BE in these places that we've heard so much about, and think about the amazing events that took place in them.
It is pouring rain in this photo, and I will blame my funny face on that....

Not the most promising attitude for the first stop of the day....

Next, a short drive to Kirtland, OH, and the Visitors' Center there. The Sister Missionaries that took us around there were fabulous. They would tell us what took place in each location, and then apply it to our lives, discussing more the topic or lesson from each event, rather than just the event itself.

Then on to the Kirtland Temple, which is no longer owned by the Church, but by the Community of Christ.

And a short aside for my parents, who are working on the Joseph Smith Papers' project and had just been researching and compiling info on Mentor, OH.

Ask my mom, and she'll tell you all about it!

  1. So fun! We lived near Kirtland for a few years and I loved visiting the sites. Especially Johnson farm! We would pick apples, go later to collect fallen ones for cider, and spend a whole morning picking strawberries followed by pancakes covered in some of our fresh pickings. Wonderful memories and a great place to visit!
