After stopping at Walmart to try to get some life jackets (note: not the place to buy life jackets unless you want the funny-looking all-in-one swimsuit/floaty thing), we headed to the lake. Much to my joy, we were informed by the life guard (before Mr. B got in the water) that they only allow Coast Guard Certified life-saving devices, so we later returned the above-mentioned silly floaty suits AND found real ones on sale on the way. (Much rejoicing on my part)
Luckily, we didn't really need the floating-assistance: Mr. B was fine just wading, and D-man is, for some reason, morbidly afraid of sand and dirt and rocks getting into his sandals, so he didn't hardly go in the water, anyway. Here is what he did most of the time (when he wasn't asking for snacks):
Note: he is sitting on the blanket, putting the sand into his lap. It wasn't long before he was sitting on a sand-covered blanket. Tell me how this is different from sitting on the sand?
You can't see that well, but they built an awesome Loch Ness/Dragon/Snake.
This is Mr. B's friend Ethan, who was in our preschool this last year.
We sure miss you, K family!!
